EIC TAKES LEISURELY APPROACH TO SECURE MILLION PLUS CONTRACT

EIC has been awarded a mechanical and electrical contract worth in excess of £1.4 million by one of its regular partnering contractors, Leadbitter Construction. The work involves the design and installation of mechanical and electrical services for the new build Cirencester Leisure Centre, on behalf of Cotswold District Council.

The Centre will house two pools, a sauna, steam rooms, a spa and a multi gym. Work is due to start in April 2005 with an estimated completion date set for December 2005.

The mechanical and electrical installation will include conventional radiators with ceiling mounted radiant panels and under floor heating to the changing areas supplied by a gas fired boiler. Tempered fresh air ventilation will be achieved by a number of air handling units providing ducted tempered fresh air through grilles and air socks to all areas. Hot water will be generated through the main gas fired boiler plant.

Pool lighting will be installed along with general and external lighting. Lightning protection will be provided along with a fully addressable fire alarm system. Containment will be provided for audio and satellite systems.

Joint managing director of EIC, Nigel Le Marechal comments: "We're looking forward to undertaking a leisure contract of this size and scope as leisure is a sector that we have worked hard to develop and we are hoping to expand our share of this market in the New Year. We enjoy a strong working relationship with Leadbitter Construction and the team will work to ensure that the contract is delivered on time and to the highest standard, as with all our other projects for this contractor."

Mike Burton, Regional Manager (Construction) for Leadbitter adds: "We've invited EIC to work on this project with us as we are confident in their service delivery and their attention to detail. They act as a true extension of our team and are adept at covering all aspects of a job, regardless of size. We know that we can rely on them for the best results."
