Beachcroft Wansbroughs, Manchester's fastest growing commercial law firm, has introduced in-house advocacy training, which is available for all solicitors engaged in contentious work.

In an innovative move spearheaded by the Commercial Litigation Department, Beachcroft Wansbroughs has become one of a handful of firms which have obtained the necessary Law Society accreditation to provide the course in house. Those who successfully undertake the course will acquire rights of audience before all courts.

Beachcroft Wansbroughs already has a market-leading reputation for staff training and development and is one of the largest commercial law firms in the UK to have obtained 'Investor In People' accreditation across all its offices.

Course Director and Commercial Litigation Partner Peter Southeran commented: "We are totally committed to achieving the highest possible skill-set within the practice and recognise that clients increasingly seek in-depth skills. By providing the course and providing an environment where junior advocates have access to senior practitioners, we hope to build on our success to date and create an offering which delivers unbeatable strength and depth in all areas of legal practice - including advocacy. It is also the case that by acquiring this qualification and exercising Higher Rights, individuals become much more attuned to the nuances of any particular dispute and bring a material additional benefit in terms of overall approach to preparation and strategy - advocacy is an extremely demanding activity!

"We anticipate that we will soon have the largest number of Higher Rights Advocates in Manchester - and this may be the case already. This is a tremendous platform on which to build our expertise in this field and is very much an additional offering to clients. Where and when appropriate we can of course still utilise the services of in particular the Specialist Bar and we anticipate this will continue in addition to what is offered from our own resources."
