PROTECTING YOUTH IN SPORT

Beachcroft Wansbroughs, Manchester's fastest growing law firm, is running a 'Protecting Youth in Sport' seminar on 1 December 2005 from 2:30pm - 8:00pm, at St Ann's House, St. Ann Street, Manchester.

Aimed at anyone who works with young people in sport, the seminar will cover the legal and practical issues surrounding youth protection, as well as sports liability and disclosure of data.

Pauline Cowie, partner at Beachcroft Wansbroughs and speaker at the seminar comments: "We have a specialist sports law group at Beachcroft Wansbroughs so are ideally placed to provide a range of advice and information on protecting young sportspeople.

"The event is priced at £25 per delegate, with all proceeds going to SportsAid, which plays a vital role in helping talented young sportsmen and women when others can't or won't."

Jan Levinson, partner at Beachcroft Wansbroughs and leading sports litigation solicitor will open the event, followed by a joint presentation by Rebecca Ledingham, independent child protection consultant, and Kiran Bhogal, partner, Beachcroft Wansbroughs.

Kiran Bhogal has extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with medico-legal issues and in advising the health, public and private sectors on a wide range of areas including mental health law, the law relating to children and complaints handling.

With experience of a full range of commercial and technology work, Pauline Cowie will deliver a presentation on disclosure of data. The final presentation will be given by Bruce Ralston, also a partner at Beachcroft Wansbroughs, who has specialised for a number of years in sports liability, dealing with a wide variety of sports-related injury claims.

The seminar will finish with a drinks reception and buffet supper and can be booked by contacting Louise Blythman on 0117 918 2578 or email lblythman@bwlaw.co.uk.
