EIC has completed its electrical design and installation contract at the Debenhams new format store, Desire in South Shields.
The 16-week, fast-track project was won in competition by the mechanical and electrical experts, who worked at the retail outlet side by side with main contractor, Simpsons of York.
The South Shields store is the second of its type to be launched by Debenhams following on from the successful opening of the first Desire store in Truro in June of this year. The new format is aimed specifically at female shoppers and includes café facilities, fashion, lingerie, accessories and cosmetics to allow women to get everything they need for any occasion.
Joint managing director of EIC, Nigel Le Marechal is delighted to be involved with the new format, particularly at such an early stage of its roll-out: "This is the seventh project we have carried out for Debenhams in the last five years and so we're happy to build up a portfolio of work specific to this retailer. It's always exciting to be involved in a new concept, especially at the beginning of its run."
