EIC has secured the contract to provide mechanical and electrical installation for the Royal Wolverhampton grammar school, capping a record year in the education sector for the leading mechanical and electrical services provider.
Earlier last year, EIC's Midlands regional team started work on a mechanical and electrical contract, valued in excess of £2.2 million, as part of the new build and refurbishment of St Gregory the Great Roman Catholic High School, Oxford. The final education contract of 2005 - the Royal Wolverhampton school - also went to the Midlands team and work is expected to start in March of this year.
The company has forged a strong path in this sector over the past 12 months with its London office, which completed its ninth year of trading in 2005, announcing that the education sector is now responsible for 65% of its turnover.
Nigel Le Marechal, joint managing director of EIC, comments: "We've long established a strong presence in this particular sector but in recent years we've rapidly grown our market share and can happily present ourselves as education experts given our successes and the repeat business we have secured.
"The Government is committed to its spend in this field so we are expecting to build on our current results and play a role in the new build and refurbishment of more schools and colleges during 2006."
Education projects completed by EIC include City of London Academy, Crossways Academy, Alexander Park School, Watergate School, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, North East Worcester College, Mayville School Leytonstone, West Wycombe School, Oxford University's Medical Sciences Teaching Centre, Le Rondin in Guernsey and Orchard School and Uplands School in Bexley.
