One of the West's largest commercial law firms, Beachcroft Wansbroughs, is further strengthening its corporate team with the appointment of Jocelyn Ormond. Based at the firm's Bristol office, Jocelyn brings ten years of corporate experience to the group, including three years at Allen & Overy and seven years at Slaughter and May in London.
"We are investing heavily in our corporate team to develop both our regional and national service offering", says Bristol senior partner, Michael Bothamley, "and lateral hires such as this will help us to respond to the growth in demand for corporate advice.
"Working alongside our new head of corporate, John Williams, and in conjunction with our mature, London-based practice, Jocelyn will play a key role in building a premium-quality, service offering in the region."
An Oxford University graduate, Jocelyn qualified as a solicitor in 1997. His career has seen him play a leading role in a range of high-profile cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as significant private equity transactions.
Speaking about his new position, Jocelyn said: "Beachcroft Wansbroughs has an excellent reputation for quality of service, and has demonstrated a clear commitment to developing its corporate team. I'm delighted to be joining the firm and look forward to using the experience I've gained in London to help develop the team's leading reputation and extend our service offering to major corporates in this region and nationally."
Beachcroft Wansbroughs' national corporate team includes 13 specialist partners acting for clients across the UK and announced the arrival in January of two new partners, John Williams (ex-Slaughter and May) and Nick Gibbon (ex-Allen & Overy). The firm provides expert advice on all aspects of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, listing and delisting, OFEX/AIM flotations and regulatory issues affecting large corporates.
