EIC is combining its experience of both the leisure and education sector as it undertakes the design and build project for University College, London's new swimming pool.

The £900,000 mechanical and electrical contract was awarded to the specialist supplier by main contractor, Galliford Try. EIC has started work on the design of what will be an extension to an existing building and expects to be on-site by the end of March, with work due for completion by October 2006.

The new mechanical and electrical systems will link up with the existing systems to provide the college with a seamless continuation of services. The college will be fully operational whilst work is carried out and will be operating a 'business as usual' policy.

Nigel Le Marechal, joint managing director of EIC, is pleased to have been awarded a contract which straddles both the education and leisure sectors: "We've grown our market share in these sectors in recent years and have established ourselves as experts across both fields. Our customer approach and commitment to service are recognised by our clients, along with our professional approach to working in sensitive environments."
