BEACHCROFT TAKES BRISTOL ON BOARD !
Senior Partner of Beachcroft's Bristol office, Michael Bothamley, has been appointed to the main board of the new Beachcroft LLP from 1st May 2006. A well-respected member of the region's legal and business community, Michael has led the firm's Bristol office since 2001, which has doubled its turnover over that period.
Michael has also been Head of the firm's national Property Practice Group since 2003. He will hand over that role on 1st May to partner Virginia Clegg, a retail development specialist and daughter of the legendary Tony Clegg, who built the Mountleigh Group into one of the Stock Market's star performers in the 70s and 80s.
Commenting on his new role, Michael said: "This is a very exciting time in the firm's development. We have been quietly building over recent years to a turnover of around £100m, making us a significant player in the marketplace. By changing to LLP status, we will be more like a limited company with an executive Board responsible for driving the business forward.
"However, the positive principles on which the original partnership was founded - mutual support, teamworking and long-term strategic thinking - will remain very much at the core of our business philosophy and culture."
The new Beachcroft Board, headed by the firm's national Senior Partner Simon Hodson, and composed of six members voted for by over 130 partners nationwide, will include another Bristol-based partner, commercial risk lawyer, David Pollitt.
