Leading mechanical and electrical services provider EIC has now completed work on the new education centre at the George Eliot NHS Trust in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The project has been a landmark £4 million project for main contractor Shaylor Construction Ltd.
The £1.2 million mechanical and electrical installation contract, which began in January 2006, was co-ordinated by EIC to cause minimum disruption to the staff and patients at the hospital.
Electrical installation work included small power, lighting, external lighting, intruder alarm and CCTV system, fire alarm system, IT wiring, induction loops and a distribution system.
Mechanical installation included hot and cold water systems, low temperature hot water heating, chilled water facilities, above ground drainage, ventilation systems and an air conditioning system.
Joint managing director of EIC, Nigel Le Marechal comments: "The key to this particular project has been good co-ordination. Careful co-ordination of services was required due to limited space and the team pulled together to accommodate all other sub-contractors and to make sure the project was completed smoothly and without any major problems."
Chris Brown of main contractor, Shaylor Construction Ltd adds: "The team from EIC has worked hard to liaise with all parties concerned and its members were a welcome and reassuring presence on site."
