EIC has been awarded a £2.5 million contract to carry out mechanical and electrical installation work at the new civic centre in Runnymede, Surrey. The new build offices, which are to be constructed by main contractor, Willmott Dixon, will house council chambers and offices and a police station.
The design of the building is set to be completely open plan with the contractors working towards an excellent British Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) listing. EIC will be employing its expertise to help support energy saving initiatives and to undertake a meticulous planning of services.
The leading mechanical and electrical services provider will start work on the centre in January 2007 and expects to have completed the project by October 2007. Joint managing director of EIC, Nigel Le Marechal comments: "The team is looking forward to the challenges that will be presented by working to create a completely functional open plan environment.
"We're also delighted to be undertaking this project with Willmott Dixon and consolidating further our position as a valued member of its supply chain by giving them our full support."
Mark Tant, managing director of Willmott Dixon's local office in Cobham adds: "EIC has proved to be a willing and able partner who excel at working collaboratively and providing full support and understanding to the team. We have built a long-term, successful working relationship with this contractor and we trust them to deliver to our standards."
