HUDDERSFIELD GIVES FIRST-TIME BUYERS CHANCE TO INDULGE IN COUNTRY LIVING CLOSE TO TOWN

Following on from recent media reports that have identified Huddersfield as a hotspot in terms of affordability and return on investment for first-time buyers, specialist developer PJ Livesey has announced that over 90% of buyers at its striking development on the outskirts of Huddersfield are those who are taking their first step on the property ladder.

Situated in a unique valley location, surrounded by fields and reservoirs, the progress of Quarry Bank Mill has been closely followed by local residents. When properties were finally released last year, the majority of early reservations included local first-time buyers and walkers who had discovered the development whilst exploring favourite nearby routes.

Besides its country setting, Quarry Bank Mill owes its surplus of charm and individuality to the series of Grade II listed old mill buildings which have been converted into one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

With a large number of the one and two-bedroom homes having been snapped up by the first-time buyer market, PJ Livesey is expecting the remaining, larger living spaces to attract older, more established buyers who will be influenced by the lack of investors on the development.

Sales manager Colette Gannon explains: "Investors have swamped the edge of town apartment blocks and there is a surplus of buy-to-let accommodation on the market. Buyers who are moving onwards and upwards to bigger apartments don't want to buy on a development that has been monopolised by investors and their tenants as tenants don't have the same vested interest in their homes and the developments they live on and a surplus of to-let boards can drive the overall value of the properties down."

Although situated in a semi-rural area, Quarry Bank Mill benefits from being just a short drive from Huddersfield town centre with its High Street stores and wide selection of bars and restaurants. Just five minutes drive from the motorway, residents will be able to make a short commute to Leeds and Manchester allowing them to enjoy a 'best of both worlds' scenario.

The pedigree of the development is assured as P J Livesey is renowned across the UK for its sympathetic conversions, its design excellence and craftsmanship. Quarry Bank Mill stands out on the landscape as a prime example of local heritage and the developer is working to ensure that the completed interiors and finishes will be worthy of the imposing historical exterior.

There is a selection of specification options available on this development, demonstrated in the elegant and individual show apartments, to give buyers the best possible flexibility and choice. Prices for the one-bedroom properties start at £107,500 and two-bedroom properties are available from just £139,950.
