Commercial law firm, Beachcroft LLP, is showing its support for Yorkshire's young entrepreneurs by developing a partnership with The Prince's Trust. The initiative will see the partners, solicitors and staff from the firm's Leeds office volunteer to guide and encourage young people who are looking to start their own business.
"We strongly believe that businesses have a duty to support the communities in which they operate," says regional senior partner Glenn Miller. "Our partnership with The Prince's Trust is just beginning, but we anticipate that our people will spend time every month with their selected young person to provide not only business advice, but also personal support if required. It's a great opportunity for us to help people to help themselves and to contribute towards the welfare of our community."
The business mentoring scheme is the latest move by Beachcroft's Leeds office to help support local initiatives. The firm is also a committed supporter of the Leeds branch of Emmaus, a charity which provides homeless people with a bed, and a reason to get out of it in the form of work.
"Our support of Emmaus has been for several years now," continues Glenn. "We provide a donation each year in place of sending clients Christmas cards, which after all only end up in the bin.
"The charity is a natural choice for Beachcroft, not only because of its tremendous work, but because it is a national organisation with a community in many of the cities where we have an office, so everyone in the firm can get involved."
