Beachcroft's Bristol-based injury risk team has been boosted with the re-location of partner, Paul Parke, from its Winchester office. Paul is a nationally acknowledged expert in the field of catastrophic injury and has been involved in the sector since 1986.
"Paul will be a great asset to our already excellent injury risk team, with 20 years' experience of handling high profile catastrophic injury claims," said regional senior partner Michael Bothamley. "He was closely involved in Lord Woolf's reform of the civil justice system and is a member of the working party that drafted the Personal Injury Protocol.
"Our injury risk practice here in Bristol already has a leading reputation in the South West and achieved a top ranking in the latest Chambers UK Guide. Paul's arrival further strengthens that reputation and maintains our positioning as a centre of excellence for this type of work."
Alongside his work on catastrophic injury claims, Paul will continue to advise on the legal aspects of the fourth UK Bodily Injury Awards Study, a major research project commissioned by the International Underwriting Association of London (IUA) in conjunction with the Association of British Insurers (ABI). The report will investigate trends in bodily injury awards over the last four years and the legal factors behind these trends. Paul also co-authored the three earlier studies in 1997, 1999 and 2003.
