Detached properties are selling quickly at PJ Livesey's showcase development, Kingsley Park in Frodsham, with half of the link-detached, three-bedroom homes selling off-plan thanks to breathtaking, natural, wooded gardens, some of which border Delamere Forest.

The generous woodland gardens - between one fifth of an acre and two acres - are a refreshing alternative to other new build developments in less scenic surrounds which are restricted by space and can only offer small, standard lawns.

The Lodge, Ash House, a stand-alone three-bedroom property, has two acres of wild garden which includes a natural stream. The link-detached properties have the added appeal of being close to the development's tennis court which is expected to be a popular addition for residents who enjoy active leisure pursuits.

Healthy activity is a given in a country setting such as Delamere Forest. Sales manager Colette Gannon explains the location's appeal: "The Forest is a well-known beauty spot providing both a local and a national attraction. The houses are being built in the grounds of what was once an old hospital and the original buildings are being redeveloped as luxury apartments. The development affords magnificent views of the Cheshire Plains and distant Welsh and Peak District mountain ranges as well as the surrounding forest.

"The benefactor of the original hospital, Sir William Crossley, was keen to provide a respite for city and town workers suffering from tuberculosis. The initial idea was to give people in ill-health the benefits of fresh country air and beautiful views to lift their spirits. These benefits are still relevant today, particularly given the fast-paced lifestyles most of us maintain, and so Kingsley Park exists in the spirit that the original buildings benefactor intended."

Kingsley Park is gradually being transformed into the pride of the local area. Besides the three-bedroom detached properties, work is currently underway on the restoration and redevelopment of the main hall and nursing home into luxury one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. In addition, a number of period outbuildings - including the old pump house and hospital chapel - are also being renovated.

Prices for the three-bedroom detached properties at Kingsley Park start at £430,000 rising to £630,000. The apartments start at just £179,950. The development is open from Thursday to Monday (10.00 am to 5.00 pm) and sales advisors can be contacted on 01928 740078.
